IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa junior Gage Messingham and sophomore Max Tjoa took home first place at the 29th Iowa Golf Association (IGA) Four-Ball Championship at Finkbine Golf Course on Friday. The duo finished with a 36-hole total of 128 (-16), securing the title by a two-stroke margin.
After the first round, Messingham and Tjoa were just two shots off the lead, positioned at seven-under-par with nine birdies and an eagle in the first round. The duo was behind Ankeny’s Nate Spear and Ottumwa’s Cale Leonard.
In the final round of the IGA Four-Ball Championship, they maintained their momentum, pushing up into the first-place position with 10 birdies in the second round.
